COMPETITION CHEER
The youth competition cheer season is an exciting journey filled with energy, dedication, and teamwork. It kicks off in July with rigorous training sessions where young athletes refine their stunts, jumps, and dance routines. Coaches focus on building strength, precision, and synchronization to prepare the team for the competitive stage.
As the season progresses, cheerleaders participate in various local Varsity and SCYCA competitions, showcasing their skills and spirit. Each competition is an opportunity to perform choreographed routines in front of judges and audiences, striving for excellence and aiming for top scores. The season is not just about winning; it’s about personal growth, developing resilience, and fostering a sense of camaraderie among teammates.
The youth competition cheer season is a celebration of athleticism and artistry, culminating in championship events where teams compete against other district youth leagues, showcasing their hard work and passion. FAQs
- Competition Team Registration fee: $200
- Practices 2 times per week and are mandatory
- Stunt Clinics with professional instructors
- Professional music
- Compete in a minimum of 5 competitions (Mid October through November 24th)
- Must cheer sideline at a minimum of 3 football games.
- Includes bow and game day shirt
- There is a limit of 28 cheerleaders on the 5-12 Year Old Traditional Competition teams
- In the event that the enrollments for a particular age group exceed the roster limits, evaluations will be held for that team. After the roster is filled remaining athletes will have the option of joining our Sideline program (refunds will be issued for the difference in registration fees for this reason only as an exception to refund policy).

SIDELINE CHEER
The sideline cheer season is all about bringing energy, enthusiasm, and support to our Connetquot Youth Football teams. As the heartbeat of the crowd, cheerleaders engage fans with spirited chants, vibrant routines, and dynamic stunts that keep the energy high and the atmosphere electric.
Throughout the season, sideline cheerleaders focus on mastering cheers, perfecting their motions, and developing crowd-leading skills. Practices are dedicated to building strength, stamina, and teamwork, ensuring that every game is filled with seamless performances and infectious enthusiasm.
Sideline cheer is more than just supporting the team; it’s about being leaders of school spirit and ambassadors of positivity. Cheerleaders play a crucial role in boosting team morale and creating a unified, spirited environment for players and fans alike.

📅 UNIFORM FITTING – June 5th
Location: Connetquot Public Library
What to Wear: Fitted tank top and shorts for accurate sizing
- Sideline Teams: 6:00–7:00 PM
- All Competition Teams: 7:00–8:00 PM
Here’s what to expect:
Before the fitting, we’ll send out a Fitting Pass Link – it’s a website where parents will enter their athlete’s name and email. At the fitting, once sizes are selected, you’ll input them into the site. After the fitting, we’ll send a payment portal link to the email you provided, which will also be shared in our group. Once everyone’s payment is received, the final order will be reviewed one more time before being placed.
📅 MEET & GREET – June 23rd
Location: Locust Avenue Field
Time: 6:00–8:00 PM
What to Wear: All athletes should come in cheer gear
- Competition Parent Meeting: 6:00 PM
- Sideline Parent Meeting: 7:45 PM
This is a great chance to meet the teams and get important info for the season!
📢 This is a drop-off/pick-up event for the athletes
- Athlete drop-off will take place in front of the storage containers located at the back of the field.
- Parent meetings will be held at the pavilion picnic table area – please arrive at your designated time for important team info and introductions.
